Tennis Solutions & FKPro Tennis Masters - 5th Series

Due to the popularity of the previous four series, Tennis Solutions hereby announce the fifth Tennis Masters Adult Series event starting in April 2012 sponsored by FKPro.   This series is for men and most especially offers the opportunity for players who are no longer juniors to play singles tennis with the possibility of improving ranking, rating or simply to be able to play competitive singles.  We are particularly catering for 1994 birthdays and older but juniors are not excluded but don’t receive Masters points or prizes.  Many of the players who enter also use the events to re-kindle acquaintances with other players in a relaxed but competitive atmosphere.

Some of our events have been sanctioned as Grade 4 so the rules surrounding the Series seeks to encourage players to enter Grade  4’s by giving competitors enhanced Masters points for entering those events.  Gifts will go to the first three players on the leaderboard at the end of the Series.  Details of those gifts can be obtained by competitors upon request from the organisers.

The FKPro Masters Series consists of 6 events (three Grade 3’s and three Grade 4’s). Each event will generally be based on two way draws.  There can be as many as 2 draws (“A” and “B”) both of which can take 16 players.  The “A” draw will be either a Grade 3 or 4 tournament and the “B” draw will be one Grade lower.   With the exception of BLTSC tournament the events are played indoors on carpet at the David Lloyd Centre in Ashton, Bristol.   Again with the exception of BLTSC event first match start times will be from 3.30 pm onwards.  Our prime objective (as far as possible) is to provide each player with up to four matches and to ensure that no player should be unduly disadvantaged in terms of number of matches played, regardless of whether they have won or lost.  Clearly that isn’t always possible but it is our declared aim.  Our other key objective is to attempt to give each player as good a tennis experience as we can.

Subject to the “A” and “B” draws being complete players should expect to play up to four matches over the two days and must be prepared to play on both days win or lose.   Points will be allocated to each competitor** in the “A” or “B” draw dependent on where they finish at the conclusion of the tournament.  In addition 5 further points will also be allocated to each competitor for playing each event provided they have not withdrawn, for any reason, from any of their scheduled matches during the two days of the event.   As examples of the points composition, the winner of the “A” draw in a Grade 3 event will receive 37 points in total (32 + 5), the runner up, 36 points (31 + 5) and so on.  The winner of the B draw will receive 21 points (16 + 5) and the runner up 20 points (15 + 5) and so on.

A further 10 points will be allocated to all players when the top event is a Grade 4.  Additional bonus points are available throughout the series details of which can be obtained by competitors upon request from the organisers.  The points tally will appear on this website shortly after each event under the heading FKPro Masters Leaderboard.  It is the responsibility of each player to check the points allocated to them and showing on the website within 7 days of the close of the tournament.

Entries will close as indicated on the LTA website and will be accepted on a highest rating first basis followed by ranking*.  In the event of players having equal ratings but identical rankings or no rankings, then the date of entry will determine precedence.  After the closing date we will most likely continue to accept entries either to complete the “A” draw or to place the overspill player(s) into the linked event running over the same days.  For late entries please phone or e-mail on 07710 402715 or dbudd1023@aol.com .  Players in the “B” draw may at the referee's discretion be invited into the “A” draw if appropriate should there be late withdrawals.

At the end of the FKPro Masters Series the points for every player who has competed will be totalled and prizes will be allocated to the top players and will include money prizes.  In the event of a tie in the number of points and to determine the final positions, ratings followed by rankings will be used.   Any non money prize must be collected by the appropriate player - they cannot be posted or delivered by the organisers.

Players are reminded that they should expect to play matches on both days and it is particularly unacceptable for reasons other than sickness or injury to withdraw from the tournament once you have commenced playing in it.  It simply has the effect of destroying other players enjoyment as they will therefore not play be able to play their full quota of matches.  We would for instance particularly frown upon players who, having looked at the remainder of the draw, decide to withdraw because the ratings or rankings available do no suit.  Either way LTA penalty points will automatically be issued to players who withdraw in this manner and it may ultimately affect future entries into our events.

Entries to any of the Series events can be made online through the LTA main website with electronic payment through PayPal and making payment to the account Grahamrbudd@aol.com.  The cost of entry in this manner is £26 (as we incur charges through PayPal).  Alternatively, provided you have previously played in one of our events we are happy for you to phone/text your entry to Donna on 07710 402715 or you can e-mail her on dbudd1023@aol.com but please either ensure that you receive an acknowledgment to your e-mail entry AND look at the tournament information on the LTA website to check that your name has been included in the draw. If you enter via e-mail or phone then we are quite happy to accept a lesser payment of £25 on the first day of the event either by cheque, cash or credit card although the cost of entry using credit card will be £1more.

The FKPro Masters Series has variously been sanctioned as Grades 3, 4, or 5 (and if necessary Grade 6 events) and matches will count for both ratings and (with the exception of Grade 6 events) rankings. The dates of the events are shown below.  The entry fee is non refundable after the closing date regardless of the reason.
The draws for each event and first match timings will appear on a link on the front page shortly before each event or you can go directly to the LTA website.  We will however e-mail you with your start time but we do expect that you reply to the e-mail so that we know it has arrived with you.
